Ancient Egypt

Egyptian civilization is among the oldest known civilizations. Taking root a little over 5000 years ago following the political unification of Lower and Upper Egypt and the creation of the first dynasty, it was ruled by the famous and enigmatic pharaohs.

Much remains to be discovered, but below is a brief summary of what Ancient Egypt was like.

Before discussing Egyptian civilization itself, it is important to note that a rich pre-dynastic history, as evidenced by the discovery of Nabta , also called the Egyptian Stonehenge , did indeed exist several thousand years before the unification of the country!

As previously stated, Ancient Egypt was one of the most powerful civilizations of its time, despite many upheavals during its 3000 years of existence.

Military, political, religious and economic power, but not only that!

Music, painting, sculpture, literature, mathematics, astronomy, architecture… were also part of their great wealth and knowledge.

A vast body of knowledge, coupled with a rich culture, mythology, and pantheon of gods and goddesses that are simply breathtaking. Deities that most people know by name, whether they're interested in Egypt or not.

Gods who were also mythical kings and queens of ancient Egypt such as Horus , Anubis , Isis , or Osiris for example.

Possessing one of the most developed skills of their time, they created and built architectural marvels, including one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and the only one still existing today: the Great Pyramid of Giza .

The Great Pyramid of Giza, of which we still have so much to discover, as evidenced by the discovery of a huge, unsuspected cavity at least 40 meters long by the international teams of the ScanPyramids mission a few years ago.
